Special to Independent Newsmedia Hispanic Heritage Month kicks off with a huge celebration in downtown Phoenix. El Grito, marking Mexican Independence Day, goes from 4 to 11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at the intersection of 3rd Avenue and Adams Street. Music headliners include El Dasa, and La Brazza Nortena. Local musical acts scheduled to appear are Banda La Guamuchil, El Domador, and Banda La Experta. Hispanic Heritage Month goes from Sept. 15 through Oct. 15.
